Multiple Decision Delay DFE for Short-Burst Indoor Wireless Data Communications
نویسندگان
چکیده
A multiple decision delay decision-feedback equalizer (MDDDFE) is proposed for short-burst data communication over frequency-selective Rayleigh-fading indoor wireless channels. Simulation results show that MDDDFE can maintain low average bit error rate without incurring too much computational overhead. In particular, approximately 3dB gain over the conventional single DFE approach is obtainable using two branch DFEs.

Adaptive DFE with Regularization for Indoor Wireless Data Communications
Recursive least-squares adaptive decision-feedback equalizers (DFE) can be classified into the direct adaptation (DA) and channel-estimation-based adaptation (CEBA) approaches. CEBA provides better performance than DA when the channel length is known exactly. However, for wireless channels, the channel length is a random unknown quantity. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of the DA and...

For an indoor non-directed line of sight optical wireless communication (NLOS-OWC) system we investigate the optimized Lambertian order (OLO) of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). We firstly derive an expression for the OLO from a conventional Lambertian LED model. Then, we analyze the indoor multi-cell NLOS-OWC channel characteristics including the optical power distribution and the multipath time ...

The upper-bound performance of radial basis function decision feedback equalised (RBF DFE) burst-by-burst adaptive modulation is presented for tranmissions over dispersive wideband mobile channels. The RBF DFE is capable of estimating the 'short term bit error rate' of the received data burst and this estimate is used as the modem mode switching criterion in order to switch between di erent mod...
متن کاملChannel modeling and adaptive equalization of indoor radio channels
This paper analyzes the benefits of using a decision feedback equalizer (DFE) in the indoor radio environment and examines the results of performance predictions for different channel modelings. It is found that a QPSK/DFE modem with second-order diversity can operate at a data rate which is an order of magnitude higher than a QPSK modem without equalization. A given set of measured profiles of...
